Let me take a moment to explain who James Phillips really is:
I've explored many avenues of art and design, from photography to pencil sketching and have found a love and passion for all art. Though, I have found a true passion for digital art and design. It's amazing to be able to combine the frontier of cutting edge technology with art and design.
It started many years ago. As a kid, I could always remember some of my most enjoyable activities involving the challenge of using creativity and imagination. Of course as a kid, these thought processes come much easier. I have taken this passion with me throughout my schooling and now along with me into my career.
In my under grad years I put in many hours designing for Associated Students, Incorporated (ASI) at California State University, San Bernardino. I was also an active member in Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and served one full term as the VP of Communications. While continuing my education at Cal State I also helped found Design Collective, a graphic design organization on campus and served as Vice President. I ended up walking in June 2011 with a degree in Graphic Design and Marketing and a minor in Web Design.
Currently I'm the E-Commerce Manager for Active Ride Shop. A skateboard company and apparel retailer centralized in southern California. I spend most of my time managing multiple projects and team members. Some of my most notable achievements while working at Active Ride Shop so far have been redesigning and maintaining their web presence, managing PPC and SEO strategies, and building email marketing campaigns.
On my free time I enjoy getting outside and riding the Mountains, floating down the river, cycling, weight lifting, reading and learning more about design and marketing, hanging out with friends, family, and my beautiful wife Ciera. Legendary Fish came about as an idea for my online presence rather recently and I will be using it for future projects as a business name until I come up with something better.
"Progression of skill and talent is the only way to truly enjoy your craft."
James Phillips, Founder of Legendary Fish
